"He who shouts is rarely heard": Wise words in the third and final season of 'Nonkels'
Four years after brothers Luc, Willy, and Pol first appeared on Flemish television, the Persyn family is permanently closing its doors in this third season. The winning formula remains unchanged in this final season: one estate, three aging brothers, a thousand ways to misunderstand each other, and one outsider who wedges himself between them.
This time, a new Persyn joins the dinner table: Lobe, the toddler son of Innocent and Safa. The toddler not only turns the entire estate upside down, but also puts his parents' marriage on shaky ground. When a relationship crisis erupts, therapist Olivier steps in as a savior in times of need. Much to Carine's displeasure, he settles in right among the uncles.
He digs into old secrets and encourages them to engage in awkward group hugs, painful insights, and major changes. Luc finally has to make a choice, Willy finally has to slow down, and Pol finally has to feel. And nobody is happy about that. What follows is a buildup of pent-up emotions, unwanted insights, and a spiritual retreat that digs just a little too deep. The most important lesson: Seize the day, mea culpa!
The third season of 'Nonkels' was written by Jelle De Beule, Floris Schillebeeckx, and Cyriel Verstraete. The series is directed by Jelle Gordyn, produced by FBO and Play, co-produced with Telenet, with the cooperation of the Flemish Regulator for the Media, and supported by the Belgian Tax Shelter.
